      Ransomware which hides encryption process behind fake Windows Update screen.

    • Renames multiple (545) files with added filename extension

      This suggests ransomware activity of encrypting all the files on the system.

      Adversaries may achieve persistence by adding a Registry key to the Active Setup of the local machine.

    • Disables Task Manager via registry modification

      Adversaries may establish persistence and/or elevate privileges by executing malicious content triggered by AppInit DLLs loaded into processes.

    • Possible privilege escalation attempt

      Detects executables packed with ASPack v2.12-2.42

    • Executes dropped EXE

    • Loads dropped DLL

    • Modifies file permissions

    • Reads user/profile data of web browsers
