      Adversaries may achieve persistence by adding a Registry key to the Active Setup of the local machine.

    • Downloads MZ/PE file

    • Credentials from Password Stores: Windows Credential Manager

      Suspicious access to Credentials History.

    • Executes a file named after a Windows system binary

      The file runs from a user directory while carrying the name of an executable that normally only exists in System32.

    • Executes dropped EXE

    • Loads dropped DLL

    • Reads user/profile data of web browsers

      Infostealers often target stored browser data, which can include saved credentials etc.

    • Adds Run key to start application

    • Checks installed software on the system

      Looks up Uninstall key entries in the registry to enumerate software on the system.

    • Enumerates connected drives

      Attempts to read the root path of hard drives other than the default C: drive.
