    • Chimera Ransomware Loader DLL

      Drops/unpacks executable file which resembles Chimera's Loader.dll.

    • CryptoLocker

      Ransomware family with multiple variants.

    • Modifies WinLogon for persistence

    • Modifies Windows Defender Real-time Protection settings

    • Modifies visiblity of hidden/system files in Explorer

    • RMS

      Remote Manipulator System (RMS) is a remote access tool developed by Russian organization TektonIT.

    • Suspicious use of NtCreateProcessExOtherParentProcess

    • UAC bypass

    • Windows security bypass

    • Deletes shadow copies

      Ransomware often targets backup files to inhibit system recovery.

    • Renames multiple (3060) files with added filename extension

      This suggests ransomware activity of encrypting all the files on the system.

    • Blocks application from running via registry modification

      Adds application to list of disallowed applications.

    • Boot or Logon Autostart Execution: Active Setup

      Adversaries may achieve persistence by adding a Registry key to the Active Setup of the local machine.

    • Disables RegEdit via registry modification

    • Disables Task Manager via registry modification

    • Disables use of System Restore points

    • Drops file in Drivers directory

    • Event Triggered Execution: Image File Execution Options Injection

      Uses a legitimate IP lookup service to find the infected system's external IP.

    • Checks system information in the registry
